I gave Sling TV customer service a call, and even though I was already a subscriber, they were willing to give me this deal. They just adjusted my account to be under that promotion.
Since they are offering this promotion I’m going to give them a three-month trial.
Last time I checked they dont even have an app for FTV. Why the discount then?

No, you still need to “purchase” it (free apps still require a purchase of sorts — there just isn’t a cost) and download it to your Fire TV, but the Amazon app store is integrated into the Fire TV’s user interface so you don’t need to go into a special app to access the app store.

I got the 3 months and got the stick for free. I’m kinda glad this came out. I was about to skip on sling TV but with this offer I felt it a good deal. free shipping on the stick was great too. I got this for the kids channels but would like discovery and history and geo with AMC it would be completely for me. Nick would be nice but my kids don’t watch it much when we did have cable back in the day. The stream is OK seems to cut off and get stuck every once in a while but other then that it works great. HD on most channels. I use the cell phone app and works great with it. Over all I give it 4 stars . 5 if given those other channels to make it complete
So as soon as installed the app on the Fire TV and signed up for the 3 month Sling TV service I was unable to connect to the service due to buffering issues. Here’s the response that I received from Sling TV support.
“We apologize for the technical issue that you are facing. Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall the app? If you are having the same issue, please call our customer service center between the hours of 8:00am EST – 1:00am EST, so that we can troubleshoot and resolve your issue.
In the meanwhile, try using the service on other compatible devices, or visit http://www.sling.com/faqs for basic troubleshooting information. ”
Really ? Uninstall/Reinstall the app and if that fails use another device ? Guess the app isn’t ready for prime time.
