Amazon has released the 3rd generation Fire TV Stick and 1st generation Fire TV Stick 4K in Australia, Brazil, and Mexico for the first time. These firesticks are the same exact hardware that has already been available in other regions since 2020 and 2018, respectively, but what is new is the Alexa Voice Remote included with these Fire TV models. We’ve already seen this remote pass through FCC approval and now it’s officially available. Compared to the existing Alexa Voice Remote, this new remote adds a Live Guide button, four app buttons, and a blue microphone button with the Alexa logo in place of the black microphone button.
When Amazon released the 3rd-gen Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite back in September of last year, Australia, Brazil, and Mexico only received the Fire TV Stick Lite. With this new release, Amazon is now filling out the Firestick lineup in those regions with the full assortment of three Fire TV Stick models that have been available in other countries. The product pages of these new listings do feature the new Fire TV interface, so it is presumed that these devices will ship with the new interface, which is not yet available on the Fire TV Stick 4K in any region but is supposed to be released by the end of this month.
In Australia, the Fire TV Stick costs $79.99 AUD and the Fire TV Stick 4K costs $99.99 AUD. In Brazil, the Fire TV Stick costs R$ 360.05 BRL and the Fire TV Stick 4K costs R$ 426.55 BRL. In Mexico, the Fire TV Stick costs $1,399 MXN and the Fire TV Stick 4K costs $1,599 MXN.
