[UPDATED] Fire TV Black Friday Sale is Live starting at $15.99 — Breakdown of all Models, Accessories, and Deals

Today is the official start of Amazon’s Black Friday sale. While all Fire TV devices went on sale at the start of this week, the fact that they haven’t dropped any further today means these current prices are as good as they’re going to be for Black Friday 2023. Easily the best deal of the bunch is the 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick 4K for $24.99 because of how new it is yet how low the price is already. If you’re considering any Fire TV model or accessory, read on for a full breakdown of how this year’s Black Friday prices compare to previous sales and which devices are most worth considering.

1080p Fire TVs

Lowest Past Price Ever: $11.99 on Prime Day 2022
Lowest Past Price Recently: $14.99 on Prime Day 2023 and Black Friday 2022
Consider Instead: Fire TV Stick 4K for $24.99 - I know it's a big ask to spend $9 more for someone in the market for the least expensive Fire TV, but it really does make more sense over just spending $4 more for the regular Fire TV Stick. With the regular Fire TV Stick you're just getting TV controls on the remote for the extra $4, but the extra $5 you spend on top of that for the Fire TV Stick 4K gets you the same remote, twice the RAM, better performance, better WiFi, a newer OS, and more.

Lowest Past Price Ever: $16.99 on Prime Day 2023
Lowest Past Price Recently: $19.99 on Prime Day #2 2023 and Black Friday 2022
Consider Instead: Fire TV Stick 4K for $24.99 - The extra $5 you spend to get the Fire TV Stick 4K is well worth it because you get, twice the RAM, better performance, better WiFi, a newer OS, and more.

4K Fire TVs

Lowest Past Price Ever: $29.99 on 10/27/2023
Lowest Past Price Recently: $29.99 on 10/27/2023
Consider Instead: Nothing - While you could consider getting the Fire TV Stick 4K Max for $39.99, I don't think it's worth it for most people. If you just want the best Fire TV Stick then go for it, but the Fire TV Stick 4K at this price is easily the best Fire TV deal during this Black Friday and gives you the most bang for your buck. The 16GB storage on the Max, which is twice what all other Fire TV Sticks have, is probably the most compelling reason to upgrade to the Max but $15 extra is a lot to pay for that.

Lowest Past Price Ever: $44.99 on 10/27/2023
Lowest Past Price Recently: $44.99 on 10/27/2023
Consider Instead: Fire TV Stick 4K for $24.99 - While the 4K Max is a great device, I'm not sure its upgrades are worth the extra $15 over the regular Fire TV Stick 4K. If $15 is nothing for you and you just want the best Firestick, then go with the Max and you'll be very happy, but if you're on a budget and want the most bang for your buck, then I think you'll be better off with the regular Fire TV Stick 4K.

Lowest Past Price Ever: $109.99 on Prime Day 2023
Lowest Past Price Recently: $109.99 on Prime Day #2 2023 and Prime Day 2023
Consider Instead: Fire TV Stick 4K Max for $39.99 - The 3rd-gen Fire TV Cube is a great device and the best of the best, but is it two to three times as good as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max as the price suggests? I would say no. While benchmark scores show the Cube is about 50% more powerful than the Max, you're not really going to see that kind of performance difference with everyday streaming use. If the hands-free aspects of the Cube aren't important to you and you're just looking for a powerful device on a budget, consider getting the Max instead and spending the savings on an Alexa Voice Remote Pro instead.

Fire TV Smart TVs

Accessories

Lowest Past Price Ever: $19.99 on Prime Day #2 2022 and many other times before that
Lowest Past Price Recently: $24.99 on Prime Day #2 2023 and Prime Day 2023
Consider Instead: Fire TV Cube for $109.99 - While the Cube costs much more, there really isn't an alternative to the Fire TV Balster other than the Cube. If you're looking for more hands-free control of your home theater, and possibly want to upgrade your Fire TV anyway, the Cube is worth considering because it works much better than a Firestick paired with the Blaster.

Lowest Past Price Ever: $27.99 on Prime Day 2023
Lowest Past Price Recently: $29.99 on Prime Day #2 2023
Consider Instead: Nothing - If you're in the market for a better Fire TV remote, then you don't really have any choices other than the Pro remote. This deal matches the lowest price it has ever been, so there is little reason not to get it now if you want it.

Lowest Past Price Ever: $34.99 on Prime Day 2023 via Alexa-only Deal
Lowest Past Price Recently: $39.99 on Prime Day #2 2023 and Prime Day 2023
Consider Instead: Nothing - The Luna controller is fantastic, even if you have no intention of using Amazon Luna. It works on so many platforms because it can connect via Bluetooth, USB, or WiFi (Luna only). If you want a general controller for Fire TV, Android, and PC use, this is a great choice. The whole Luna cloud gaming aspect is just an extra perk, especially if you're a Prime member and can play the free monthly games.

Lowest Past Price Ever: $99.99 on 11/1/2023
Lowest Past Price Recently: $99.99 on 11/1/2023
Consider Instead: So many better options - There is nothing that makes this soundbar better for your Fire TV than any other soundbar on the market, as I explain in my review. So, it really comes down to the price and, even at the current discounted price, you can get so much more from a soundbar if you spend $100, like rear speakers or a subwoofer.

Black Fridays just suck anymore. Just normal sales we all get throughout the rest of the year. Really sad, too.

    • Craig S. says:

It’s true! Two Prime Day’s killed any expectation of deep discounts for Black Friday sales…since Black Friday is essentially just a third Prime Day, least as far as Amazon’s concerned! Elias says there’s deeper cuts, but I don’t see where or how??? Prime Day essentially reveals how deep of a discount they’re ever willing to go on most items, so you already know what to expect months ahead of time and probably already bought it back in July.

Can you install a custom launcher on the new 4K sticks?

  3. Tj says:

From the first ever Black Friday game to the actual Black Friday sales, I think we can all agree Black Friday this year was a dud.

Elias, I’m wondering if you can tell me the cheapest way to get a replacement remote for a 1st Gen Fire TV Stick 4K Max? It looks like Amazon prices the remotes so high that it makes more sense just to buy new Fire TV Stick, which I’m sure is intentional.
