Anyone know what the Kids vs Kids Pro is all about? Same price so if it’s same as the 8 Plus in a Kids version that would obviously be a better deal but I’m guessing I’m wrong on that.

The Kids Pro is the same tablet as the Kids, but in a slimmer case and with more permissive internet permissions in place. (The Kids only allows a hand-picked list of sites; the Kids Pro allows open access with filters in place.) It’s intended for older children (6-12) who won’t abuse the device quite as much as the younger children (3-7) who are the target for the Kids model. The slim case doesn’t protect the tablet quite as well but it’s easier to carry.

Perhaps the lowest price ever for a single tablet. But Amazon offered a 3 pack of Fire HD 8 tablets for $120 on Prime Day 2017; that’s $40 per tablet. The current $45 deal is still excellent.

Thanks. I’m going to try the Pro. Hopefully I can still hack it to put the Play Store on it. My kid is 7 and uses a normal Fire 8 right now but I put the Play Store on it so that she can play some games she likes and have YouTube Kids. Only reason I wanted the Kids version was for the warranty. My kid has cracked the screen on two tablets now.
