They’re a little late, but the Element Fire TV Edition televisions have officially been released. My own order, as well as those of other readers, has shipped out and should be arriving to customers who pre-ordered the TVs throughout the day. The 65″ TV for $899.99 seems to be in the shortest supply because it became unavailable within a few days of being announced and has not been available to order since. While it is currently available to order, the 43″ TV for $449.99 is the second hardest to get with an estimated shipment date of 8 to 9 days for orders placed today. The 50″ TV for $549.99 is on the verge of selling out, with only a handful currently in stock, and the 55″ TV for $649.99, which is the one I purchased, is the only size currently in stock.
My TV should arrive later today, so you can look forward to detailed coverage of all the ins and outs of the first television running Amazon’s Fire TV operating system. Let me know in the comments of this post what you’d like to know about the Fire TV Edition television, and I’ll do my best to cover it in my upcoming posts.
Im sure it doesnt need to be said but please check sideloading and kodi
Will be checking that first thing.
Are they good TVs? If they’re crappy to middling TVs in the first place, having amazon built into it is not a selling point for me. I’d rather buy a good to great TV and add a Stick to it.
That’s tough to answer. I have little to compare with. Obviously, if there’s something noticeably wrong with the picture quality, color, contrast, etc, I’ll be sure to point it out. I’ll probably concentrate on functionality and usability, like how well the built-in tuner works and if it adds a lot over a regular Fire TV box. Ultimately, these are budget TVs, so if you’re looking for a “great” TV to blow you away, you’re probably better off going with something much more expensive, but I’ll do my best to judge how good the Fire TV Edition television is for the price.

If you could make a video of the boot process/ general functality of menus and overall picture quality will be awesome. A video would show more for most people. Thanks
When using alexa commands, how much is processed in the cloud and how much is done locally. For example, when you request a video to play does the command go to the cloud and then alexa sends the url of the video to the Fire TV? Or how does that work.
Definitely would like to see the it’s function and talk of adding an sd card to add time to pause/rewind function. Also the ota Channel guide.
Ota function not it’s lol
Thanks for reminding me to check this! I would have certainly forgot. WIthout an SD card, it pauses for a max of 5 minutes. I put a 32 GB SD card (with about 25 GB free) in and hit pause. I’ll include more details in my post about this, but it has been paused for almost an hour now and it’s still recording.
Wow that’s awesome! Can’t wait for your full review.
Just got email that TV delayed to week of July 11th.
This is Crazy.
I cancelled my order today.
Which size?
