Downloader app for Amazon Fire TV reaches One Million Users

My Downloader app for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick has reached a milestone I never thought would happen. One million people have purchased the app for free. As if that wasn’t enough, the app is currently the 2nd most popular free app in the entire Amazon Appstore.

I’m glad so many people have found the app helpful to download files and install 3rd-party apps on the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. The new built-in browser I added in the last update seems to be a big hit with users. The next update to the app is almost finished and will add favorites/bookmarks, as well as a new browser menu for quick access to JavaScript settings and the new favorites. Thank you to everyone who has donated towards the development of the app via the in-app donation buttons. Thanks to you, I’ve been able to add new features while keeping the app 100% free and ad-free.

ES File manager is better overall.

And how long has ES been around for?

Back to your hole now, Donald. That’s enough for today. We’ll try again tomorrow.

ES File Explorer is a powerful program. I expect people who use my app to also use ES or some other file manager. My Downloader app was never meant to replace a file manager. It’s just meant to make a few common Fire TV tasks a little easier than ES.

As for the APK search functionality you want, I think Google can do a much better job at that than me. There are also numerous APK host/search sites like apkmirror.com and apkpure.com that specialize in that. They all work well from the browser in my Downloader app.

    Well that escalated quickly. Kudos.

I guess unbiased opinions are not welcome. Only the seemly phony attaboys. I tried it went back to ES. Was hoping for a search web for apk , but this is the Proprietary domain of the big 3 search engines. So it really isn’t a web browser but a web page viewer.

    Seriously, that’s awesome! Congrats!

Is there an APK version of the app we can utilize or perhaps download from the Play store? I know of folks who are on the Nexus Player or Shield TV that can benefit with such app

    That’s fantastic, congrats you’re a millionaire in downloads !!! :D

You may want to seriously consider releasing the app in Google Play Store for Android TV OS devices like Nvidia Shield, Nexus Player, Mi Box

Now if you had only charged a dollar each that would be… Just kidding, I know that was not your primary goal for this app Elias. (but seriously you must have thought about it a little!)

I would charge .99 on the Google Play Store to cover your cost and have some play money. Overall a great app and well appreciated by all. Kudos.
