There are a few decent deals available on remotes and remote accessories for Fire TVs and Echos. Amazon currently has the Alexa Voice Remote for Echos on sale for $19.99. Not to be confused with the Fire TV voice remotes, the Echo remote pairs to any Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus, Echo Show, or Echo Spot to remotely control volume and playback. You can also issue voice commands to the Echo device through the remote. If you want to save a bit more, you can get a “Used – Very Good” condition remote from Amazon for $11 or a refurbished remote for $14.99 from Woot. If you need a new Fire TV remote, either to replace an original or to use as a second remote for games, Woot also has the refurbished Fire TV voice remote for $14.99. As for remote accessories, the Mission Cables remote case for the new Fire TV voice remote (w/ power & volume buttons) is on sale for $10.99. This is the only “Certified Made for Amazon” case that exists, which means it has been approved by Amazon to work well with their devices, for what that’s worth. Another remote accessory that is on sale is the Sideclick Universal Remote Attachment for $19.99 at Best Buy.
Will the refurbished Fire TV voice remote for $14.99 work with a Fire TV 2?
Yes
I have two of the new remotes and none has a blue led, don’t understand why.
The LED is there, just hidden under the surface so you don’t see it until it light up.
Ahahaha yes, you’re right. Dumb me.
Question, not necessarily related to this post but remote related. I have an older fire tv stick that the remote stopped working on. There are options to order a replacement or use the phone app but how can you program the new remote to the stick without using the original remote to scroll over to settings and pair a new remote? I have a useless stick at the moment and can’t figure out how to get anything to sink up.
Thanks in advance!
