The CBS All Access app, which was initially only compatible with the 2nd-gen Fire TV and newer Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote, has now added support for older Fire TV devices. The app still requires Fire OS 5, but since software update 5.0.5 has arrived on all Fire TV models, new and old, now all Fire TV owners can use the CBS app. Through CBS All Access, Fire TV owners can subscribe directly to CBS’s content through their $5.99 subscription plan which does not require a cable subscription.
As for the other three big US broadcast networks, the NBC app has always supported all Fire TV models. Even those still running Fire OS 3. The FOX NOW app is in the same boat as CBS, where it supports all Fire TV models but also requires Fire OS 5. Last and most certainly least, the WATCH ABC app still only supports the 1st-gen Fire TV.
Nope.
My FireTV stick updated last week but the website still lists the app as incompatible and searching for CBS from the stick only pops up the news and Sports apps. Searching for CBS All Access returns CBS NEWS and NBC.
Oh, well: the new Trek series doesn’t launch until next year, anyway.
Maybe by then they’ll have their act together.
I have two fire tv box es with 5.05. I do not see an updated version of cbs all access yet. I still get an app incompatible message on the computer via amazon webpage Is this based on info from your source Elias? Thanks Are they pushing a new version? Don’t see it yet. Sorry If I mispelled your name. not sure how to spell it..
Ignore my last post the servers are updated now (March 4) and you should be able to install cbs all access on fire all tv and sticks updated to 5.0.5 or greater. It was a block to prevent people with fire os 3 from installing it on an outdated os.
Still no change on my end.
Not on the website, not on the sticks.
