Boulder Dash has just been released for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. This is a very popular game with over 100,000 downloads in the Google Play store with a 4 out of 5 star rating on both Google and iTunes. The game features 280 levels and 12 gorgeous worlds. Amazon has designated this the Fire TV Game of the Month in the latest Fire TV newsletter. The same newsletter says the game is “Free for a limited time,” so be sure to add it to your game library for free while you can. Boulder Dash works with either a game controller or a remote control.
Hmm, strange there is different 30th Anniversary version that is $6.99 and then there is a regular Free version. A little confusing since it looks like they made a separate 30th Anniversary free version. If the 30th Anniversary free version is the same as the paid version then I would presume that at some point they will remove it from the Amazon app store and so if you were to ever uninstall it then you would have to then buy the paid version.
Yeah, it’s a bit odd. I think Amazon worked with the developer to offer the full version for free for just the Fire TV. That’s why the Fire TV version linked above is in addition to the existing free phone/tablet version. As for it being removed, I would think they’ll just change the price to not be free and update the icon to not say “Free”, as opposed to removing it from the store.
I was wondering if any knows why I can’t use my power ups on my Amazon Fire TV remote when I play this game.
