Audio Sync Adjustment Settings are now available on more Fire TV models

Last month, the two newest Fire TV models, the Fire TV Stick Lite and the 3rd-gen Fire TV Stick, gained a new option that allowes you to manually adjust the synchronization between the audio and video output. This is used to compensate for audio delays caused by TVs or AV equipment. Software updates are currently rolling out to multiple Fire TV models and its adding the sync feature to more devices.

So far, I’ve only been able to confirm that the audio sync controls have been newly added to the Fire TV Stick 4K. That means that all of the Fire TV Sticks in Amazon’s current line support the new feature. None of my 2nd-gen Fire TV Cubes have received the new update yet, nor have my older Fire TV models, so it’s not clear if this latest round of software updates is adding this feature to more than just the latest Firesticks.

I go into more detail in my original post about this feature, but it essentially allows you to set a constant offset for the device’s audio sync. If you have individual apps that have audio sync issues, this feature won’t really help, but if you’re seeing all videos played on your device have audio that is out of sync with the video, then this feature should solve the issue.

You can find the new setting listed as “AV Sync Tuning” under the Fire TV’s Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio menu. Opening it launches a bouncing ball video with a slider to adjust the audio offset. The idea is to synchronize the beep sound of the ball hitting the rectangle with when you see the two shapes touch. Note that you can have two separate sync offsets configured on your Fire TV device; one for the HDMI output and one for the Bluetooth output.

Once again, I can confirm that this option is available on the Fire TV Stick Lite, the Fire TV Stick 3, and the Fire TV Stick 4K. Please drop a comment below if you see it arrive on additional Fire TV models.

What is the version of this update in Firestick tv 4k?

    • The Fire TV Stick 4K that got this is on version 6.2.7.7. That said, it’s unknown if this feature is linked to the OS version, since the Fire TV’s settings can be updated independently of the OS.

I have four (4) FTV4K Stick devices that are all on Fire OS version 6.2.7.7 and none of them have the AUDIO SYNC setting available.

        • Then that means the feature is not tied to the OS version. It means it’s a system component update. Check your device for updates and when you see system component updates available, this feature will likely arrive.
