Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has just gone on sale for $2.99. That matches the lowest price this game has ever been. This game was first released on the original Xbox and has won numerous awards. Extra care has been placed to ensure the game detects the Fire TVs game controller and “adjusts the on-screen prompts to be intuitive for controller input instead of touch.” Rest assured that this is not a slimmed down mobile version of the game. It is the full original game. Due to the higher end graphics, the game is only compatible with the 1st and 2nd-gen Fire TV and requires a game controller to play.
Why is it $2.99 and compatible with Fire TV through the regular store, but FREE in the Underground Store but listed as incompatible with Fire TV?
Doesn’t matter to me on this one since I already have it, but curious nonetheless.
Possibly because you can’t run the Underground App in the background as necessary on the Fire TV? “FREE” Underground Apps require the main Underground App to be running constantly sending info to Amazon to allow the “FREE” Apps to run. Just a guess.
This game is worth the $2.99 though, I bought it last time it was on sale, won’t work on my Fire TV Stick (or will it? I haven’t tried sideloading it yet…), but it works great on my Amazon Fire Phone with a Bluetooth Android Controller. Takes up a lot of space though… make sure you have room to install/download the data. Also… if you bought anything with Amazon Prime this Thanksgiving Holiday and used the “Free No-Rush” shipping… you might have some $$$ to download this App for FREE free.
Most underground app will work perfectly on fire TV as long as it already has a TV version including Starwars. Just side load them and try it out.
You can sideload the Underground Apps without using the actual Underground App?
Yes, I have done so with many of them and maybe only on or two would not work due lack of controller support only
