Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, an action-adventure game originally released on the Xbox, has just dropped down to $0.99. This is the the first time this game has ever been priced this low. In this game, you play as a bounty hunter who tracks down outlaws. The game has a 4 out of 5 star rating with over 100 reviews and is one of the best console caliber games for the Fire TV. Check out IGN’s video review to learn more. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is compatible with the 1st and 2nd-generation Fire TV and requires a game controller to play. The prequel to this game, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, has also just dropped down to $0.99.
Shit. Beware, even if you select to use “Amazon Coins” as payment method, if you have any Digital Credit, Amazon will use that instead of the “Amazon Coins” even if you specifically choose to pay with “Amazon Coins”. Didn’t want to waste my Digital Credit on this, but I had 500 coins from some Humble Bundle deal a while back. Sadly I’m out $2 now. Beware.
Amazon chat support is pretty good about fixing things like this.
Tempted to buy Strangers Wrath. Thought that game looked cool since it was first released many years ago.
I have a question though. Can this game only be used on my FTVs? Or can I also play it on a generic Android box, and/or Nvidia Shield?
If you install the Amazon Appstore app on the android box, it should be able to tell you if the game will run on it.
Thanks for the head’s up on the Oddworld deals. I just snagged both. Keep up the good work.
Is there an option for installing game data on external storage?
Wow! Great game! Thanks Elias for this heads up. The $.99 for a game with this good of rep was too good to pass up, and when I heard my console deprived 16 year old actually laughing at the humor while playing it (for two+ hours) it became a ridiculous bargain.
Speaking as a 47 year old that never understood why anyone would need a different controller than the SuperNES, (In my day, we had a joystick and a single red button on a black plastic box! And we were THANKFUL for it, dammit) this game finally made me appreciate the Fire TV controller, so much so that I made sure to get the Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee prequel that’s also on sale.
So again, thank you for a nice heads up.
And yes, riddlr, it appears that the game automatically installs to an SD card if you have one, and has the capability to transfer to internal memory if need be. On my device, the game takes up about one gig of space.
