Mirroring360 AirPlay Receiver, an app which allows your Fire TV to receive wireless AirPlay audio and video from Macs and iOS devices, has just gone on sale for $1.09. This is the first time this app has dropped below it’s regular price of $6.99 since its release last month. The app is created by Splashtop, who offer some great remote access software, but surprisingly has poor reviews. I haven’t tried this app myself, as I personally use AirReceiver and have been very happy with it. One thing to keep in mind with any AirPlay app for the Fire TV is that they are all essentially hacks. The AirPlay protocol is not an open standard, so all the AirPlay apps for the Fire TV have essentially reverse engineered the protocol to allow its use on non-Apple devices. So no AirPlay app on the Fire TV will ever be as rock solid as an Apple TV.
Would love to see a review/comparison between all of the available AirPlay receivers. None of them seem usable sadly.
i like airplay/dnla pro as it supports mirroring. Works on FireTV and Stick, with ios8. Everyone once in a while it hangs, but works perrty well.

I had v2.4.7 of that installed from an APK as a test and it worked about 10% of the time. It just updated to 2.5.1 and it has ‘piracy detection’ now so it’s been uninstalled. I’m not paying $5 for an app that doesn’t work for 90% of use cases.
