Amazon’s ‘Transparent’ takes huge Emmy wins

The 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards were last night and Amazon’s ground-breaking new show Transparent took home 5 Emmy awards. The show’s creator, Jill Soloway, took home the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. In her award speech she thanked Amazon and Jeff Bezos for the creative freedom she’s been given with the show. Shortly after, Jeffrey Tambor, the show’s star won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Transparent rounded off the night with Bradley Whitford’s win for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as Emmy’s for the show’s costumes and theme music.

    5 emmys? I thought this was supposed to be a comedy. i thought it not only sucked, but the constant bombardment of LGBTLSOEHGSLAEDVX issues is really getting old and tbh, annoying. throw LGBT issues in a show and bam, award winning. pretty sad actually
