Amazon’s flagship Fire HD 10 tablet is on sale for $99.99 — Lowest Price Ever

The Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet is on sale for $99.99. This matches the lowest price this tablet has ever been. The Fire HD 10 has only dropped below $100 once before, which was this past Black Friday. I’ve owned this generation Fire HD 10 since it launched and I think it’s the best portable media consumption device on the market. That’s thanks to the fact that, internally, it is nearly identical to the Fire TV 2. If you’re looking to be productive and get work done, you’re probably better off with an iPad, but if you want to kick back and watch a movie/show or just browse the web, it’s hard to beat the Fire HD 10 for the price. At $99.99, I called the Fire HD 10 the most underrated deal this past Black Friday. Now that it’s back down to this great price, it still holds up as a steal. That’s probably why it’s already backordered.

It’s a good thing that you brought this up on Black Friday as the most underrated deal, otherwise I never would have bought one. This is the best hardware device Amazon has made (in my opinion) and the fact that you can root it so easily as well as the ability to run hands-free Alexa and Google Assistant at the same time makes me want to buy another if I had an extra $100 to burn. If anyone is looking for a cheap keyboard case for it, I suggest this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GIZHR2A/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and installing Gravity Screen on it. My dad uses it like a laptop

What does root access gain you?

      • Robert M Katz says:

The ability to unisnstall system apps (like all the bloatware) install freedom, setup Nova launcher without needing launcher hijack, basically the ability to turn it into a regular Android tablet

It also grants you the ability to not be locked into the Amazon ecosystem. If you are more intrinsically linked to the Google system, you won’t have to do use so many work arounds

Is this Fire HD 10 better than the older HDX 8.9? I have one of those that needs a new battery and the cost is about the same $100 bucks

Just noticed that you don’t have to be a Prime member to get Amazon add-on channels anymore. You just need to be a monthly Prime video member. Is that new?

    Drats! The deal is over.
Does this tablet work well with Kodi? I’d like to be able to handoff shows to/from the tablet my 2nd gen AFTV.

Yes it does. I used to have Kodi on it and it ran better on the fire hd10 than any other device I have and I had alot of add-ons and the schism anniversary edition skin installed. I got rid of it because all the add-ons were shutting down and Koko Time is alot easier to set up and gives you the same experience and takes up less space and cpu. The fire hd10 is pretty damn fast once you root it and disable all the Amazon bloatware. Keep your eyes open for the sales because you won’t regret getting one, even if you don’t fall down the rabbit hole of making modifications
