Amazon announced their fourth quarter results today, and as usual there weren’t too many concrete numbers revealed, but what was clear is how much focus Amazon is putting into Prime services. It seems to be working because Prime membership grew 53% last year. One solid figure Amazon did share was that they invested $1.3 billion in Prime Instant Video during 2014.
With the Fire TV Stick being their fastest selling product ever, it’s clear Amazon sees Prime Instant Video as an important factor in increasing Prime membership. One research firm estimates that 7% of all Amazon members own a Fire TV device. A number that is sure to grow once Amazon can get Fire TV Stick supply to catch up with demand.
