Amazon reportedly in talks to pickup Season 4 of ‘The Expanse’

After SyFy Network announced the cancellation of The Expanse 10 days ago after three well received seasons, fans and the shows creators have launched a campaign to save The Expanse by finding it a new home. Those efforts have included numerous tweets directed at Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to continue the show as an Amazon original series. It appears that those efforts have paid off because numerous Hollywood news outlets, including Variety and Deadline, are reporting that Amazon is in talks to pickup the series for a fourth season. It’s not a done deal yet, as some news organizations are incorrectly reporting. Writer and Producer of The Expanse, Daniel Abdraham, tweeted just minutes ago that Variety’s headline, which states Amazon is in talks to revive the show, is more accurate than The Hollywood Reporter’s headline, which states that it is a done deal.

Jeez, I hope they do. The show is easily some of the best science fiction I’ve ever seen. Its has the deep world building porn of Babylon 5, with more practical realism.

And it would finally give me a reason to watch something on Amazon.

This would be welcomed news after a lot of bad news from Amazon.

One of the best shows on TV. It needs a new home, Amazon would be perfect!

  6. Mewtwo says:

Amazon should pick it up for US and Netflix for UK. It should be released half season at a time. SyFy dropped it due to getting only 1st broadcast rights.

If Amazon is going to pick up a canceled science fiction show I would rather it pick up Dark Matter, but I liked The Expanse also.

Either way Amazon where is Man in the High Castle? Seriously, its the only great original you have!
