Amazon has renewed their original series The Man in the High Castle for a fourth season, according to Deadline. The announcement was made at Comic-Con today. Also unveiled is a trailer for the upcoming 3rd season of the series, which will premiere on October 5th this year.
Well this is a shocker, every article I’ve read (and I’ve been following this closely) has said season 3 would be the last. I’m pleasantly surprised, but October? Come on, that’s like a year and a half between seasons!
The season prior was December 16, 2016, that means it will be nearly 2 full years between seasons 2 and 3, that is just ridiculous, as much as I like the show it will be hard to keep interest that long.
Wouldn’t have minded if season 3 was the last. I was so pumped for this show back when it launched, but so far hasn’t gripped me like I wanted it to.
I think the show lost some of its appeal since two halves of the USA think each other half really are Nazis.
Yes! Love this show, so very glad to see the premiere date of season 3 and the renewal. Don’t understand why they waited so long, as the figures Amazon published themselves for 2017 show that season 1 and 2 are in the top 5 most watched shows.
I also tell people about this show when they ask what’s on Prime Video and they always react intrigued so I think it also lures people in. In a way Patriot, for example does not, even though it’s one of the funniest shows I have seen in recent times.
I hope 4 is the last season. The show is becoming absolutely silly. The characters, acting and production values are second to none, but the plot with its alt realities nonsenses is stretching the storyline really thin, and it shows. They’ve got a hit, and it’s arguably addictive to watch, but it’s slipping into pure sci-fi now it’s changing the whole dynamics to me. Really, the Poconoes contain a portal to another world? Oh boy. These are just my opinions, I could be wrong.

You do understand who Phillip K Dick was and what type of books he wrote?
