The first teaser trailer for Amazon’s upcoming original series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, based on the fantasy novels by J. R. R. Tolkien. The series takes place thousands of years before the events in Peter Jackson’s six feature films. This is easily expected to be Amazon’s most impressive original series and has cost $465 million to produce the first season alone, not counting the $250 million Amazon paid 4 years ago for the rights to make it. The series is set to debut later this year on September 2.

I wonder if Amazon is going to pony up the 2 Billion $$$ for the gaming, movie merchandising, and live event rights that went up for sale last week.
Seems logical to complete the package. Perhaps an original LOR exclusive game for LUNA to match the series? That would be something.
Also, if Amazon does make the purchase (as some are theorizing) you can guarantee Prime is going up again next year…
For reasons I can’t quite yet identify I enjoy The Mandalorian and Book of Bobba Fett better than the newer Star Wars movies. I hope these are just as good.
