Nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards, which will occur on April 25, 2021, have been issued and Amazon has received 12 nominations for its original movies, beating out its previous record of 7 nominations set in 2017. Sound of Metal accounted for half of those nominations, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Actor for Riz Ahmed, and Best Supporting Actor for Paul Raci. One Night in Miami received 3 nominations for Best Song, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Leslie Odom Jr. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm was also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as Best Supporting Actress for Maria Bakalova. Amazon’s last nomination was for Time which was nominated for Best Documentary Feature.
