About a week ago, Amazon released a Weather app for the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. The app was simple and elegant, but now the app is nowhere to be found. The app was a bit of a surprise when it arrived since it was the first time Amazon released a first party app for the Fire TV platform. Perhaps we’ll see the app return as an added feature to the Fire TV home screen in a future software update.
Amazon should also consider changing the apps layout. I do not need to know weather info for 5 areas. Just want info for my city like when entering the Weather Friend app.
I’m with you in thinking it’s going to be integrated into the Fire TV experience.
@mjbxx You can simply delete the other cities.
It’s still showing up as available on mine under New Releases.
I don’t care for it much however.
I see it too but you can’t download it. The price section in the Overview says “Unavailable Pricing Unavailable”. I suspect that messaging was composed by the Office of Redundancy Office. ;)
I could as of yesterday when I wrote this. I had not downloaded it on one of my two Amazon Fires.
It’s back on the store. I just now bought it
It’s been updated –
What’s new in version 1.2.50.0-FireTV_8710
To install this app, please follow these steps:
1. Select Update Later or press the Back button on the remote.
2. Select Uninstall.
3. Download the app again by selecting the Weather app icon.
This update contains performance improvements and bug fixes. Please note that previously updated locations may be lost after the update.
