  1. Tom says:

Anyone know if you can cancel a Prime account today -and then buy a new membership tomorrow? I got in on the deal last year for Transparent – and my Prime subscription is about to expire anyway.

  2. Hitcher says:

Any news this is happening in the UK?

  3. pmcd says:

If someone gifts you a Prime membership can you use this to extend your current one?

  4. Nealham says:

Buy the discounted membership and “gift it” (email it) to yourself. Wait until your current membership expires, let it fully expire or cancel it. Then use the discounted gifted membership.

  5. tubemonkey says:

The last time Amazon had a Prime sale, they closed gifting. You could only get it for new Prime accounts. I expect they’ll do the same thing this time around. Evidently, Amazon doesn’t like members using the gifting loophole to renew their memberships at discounted prices.

    • Joor says:

Classic “Screw your current Customers and attract new”. Not saying they should always give current customers discounts all the time, but when it’s something like this where the current customer base is paying for them to be able to produce the shows, it would be nice to get a thank you.

  6. DeanR1977 says:

@Hitcher ive emailed amazon uk & asked are we getting access to these offers? tbh though i dont think im gonna get a reply?

  7. Eric says:

Hm. In Germany, Prime costs 49 € / year and same-day delivery is included for free where offered and next day delivery included for everybody else, e. g. in rural areas. Prime Music, Instant Video, Cloud Space etc. included as well.

If I was an overseas customer of Amazon, I would feel slightly “ripped-off”.
