Amazon has announced that Prime members will now be able to watch Twitch, the world’s biggest livestreaming platform that’s popular with gamers, without ads, which normally costs $8.99 per month. The new perk is called Twitch Prime and comes with a few additional extras. Prime members also get free digital games, starting with Streamline, as well as free “game loot” like skins, characters, and boosts within games. Other perks include exclusive deals on new game releases. If you’re already a Prime member, all you have to do is link your Amazon and Twitch accounts together by clicking the link at the bottom-right of this page.
My kids are excited about this!
I’m excited about this. Already using it. Genius idea by amazon. Good way to ensure people keep reupping prime.
Never had use for Twitch. Does it have anything useful? (Not people playing games?)
At this point, not really. There are some non-gaming live streams, but for the most part, it’s gaming.
There is a food channel, a creative category, some daily shows but 90% of it is people playing video games. Some of those people are funny though, and I recommend having a look around.
2 bucks off any new games on Amazon is a great perk
Now I’m hoping we’ll see YouTube Prime. :)
YouTube is owned by Google, so that will never happen. Amazon bought Twitch in 2014, but has mostly let it be independent.
YouTube is owned by Google but if you’re a Spotify user, cancel Spotify and sign up for Google Music. $9.99 a month just like Spotify, same music library plus podcasts, radio stations, and a smoother interface overall and as a subscriber, you get YouTube Red for free.
Amazon is piling on the Prime perks, I hope they won’t begin piling on a price increase for Prime with all this.
Why do I have to register for a Twitch account then link it with my Amazon account just to use it? I have too many passwords already. If I can’t just log into my Amazon prime account so I am not going to bother.
So you can use the credit for a free sub a month
You will likely need more passwords, not less, as time goes on. It’s time to adopt a password vault.

Appears Twitch Prime works for Amazon Student Prime accounts/subscriptions.
