Amazon has announced that their original series Homecoming, starring Julia Roberts in her first TV series, will premiere on November 2nd. The psychological thriller will be directed by Sam Esmail, creator of the popular series Mr. Robot. The first teaser trailer for Homecoming has been published, although it doesn’t reveal much at all about the series.
In the series, Heidi Bergman, played by Julia Roberts, is a caseworker at Homecoming, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition to civilian life. Years later she has started a new life, living with her mother and working as a waitress, when a Department of Defense auditor questions why she left the Homecoming facility. Heidi quickly realizes that there’s a whole other story behind the story she’s been telling herself.

Sounds a bit like True Detective, which I loved so I’ll give this a try as well. Usually I don’t like it if a show might resemble another one too much, but season 1 of True Detective was just too awesome.
