Amazon makes Fire TV software update official

Nearly one month since it first started rolling out, Amazon has finally made the Fire TV’s biggest software update official. After a second minor update, the official latest software version for the Fire TV is 51.1.1.0_user_511070220. We call this version official because, for the first time since the Fire TV launched, Amazon has updated all of their help articles and videos, including the software information page, to reflect the changes brought on by the recent updates. Additionally, the remote software page has been updated to reflect the new remote software that started rolling out 2 weeks ago.

Now that Amazon has made things official, we suspect the remaining Fire TV’s which haven’t received the update will all be updated very soon. Remember, you can always block the update or root your Fire TV and upgrade or downgrade manually.
