Amazon lands 5 Golden Globe nominations for ‘Transparent’ and ‘Mozart in the Jungle’


The 2016 Golden Globe nominations have been announced and Amazon’s originals have landed 5 nominations this year. Transparent is hoping to repeat its 2015 win with its nomination for best TV comedy or musical. Jeffrey Tambor, the show’s lead, has also been nominated for best actor in a TV comedy or musical for the second year in a row. Rounding out Transparent’s nomination is Judith Light with her nomination for best supporting actress. Mozart in the Jungle has received two nominations this year and is going up against Transparent for best TV comedy or musical. Rounding out Amazon’s nominations is Gael García Bernal with his nomination for best actor in a TV comedy or musical for his role in Mozart in the Jungle.

The second season of Transparent will be available in its entirety starting tomorrow, December 11. The second season of Mozart in the Jungle will debut at the end of the month on December 30.

    I have not watched either of these shows. Not my cup of tea. Having said that – Amazon has been working behind the scenes adding a lot of indie-films. They now have an awesome collection of foreign films as well. Also, a ton of great documentaries. Stuff I used to rely on Netflix for – I can now find them (and much more) on Amazon Prime. Its akin to a treasure hunt though.
