Thank you. Had been looking for a good comparison all over.
I would love to see confirmation on the CPU specs.
The most important question, can XBMC be side loaded onto it? thanks
Yes please let us know if xbmc can install, or if we can root this stick if needed? I hv 2 fire tv boxes still in package, ready to root… Can we side load apps to this stick, like s***, p*** etc?
I ordered the Fire TV Stick today (From the AFTVnews link) and already have two AFTVs.
I note that in reading this article you say ‘VC1’ is supported on the AFTV; it does not work (no hardware decoding). I know the product page on Amazon.com says that it is supported, but it is not listed on the developer’s supported codec page and it hates VC1. It _might_ be able to play low-def VC1, but I don’t have any of those files.
Maybe someday they will fix it, but I don’t think it impacts many of AFTV’s users.
Was VC1 ever confirmed to work with AFTV? I feel like that was a big debate on xbmc forums when it first came out and that it was listed, but didn’t actually work.
Doesn’t matter to me, just remember reading a lot about VC1 lack of support/info.
Do I need to purchase ANYTHING ELSE! I read somewhere that I need to purchase another cable.
Fine, just tell me what to purchase. I’d like to start using the STICK ASAP!
Many thanks.

No, the Fire TV Stick comes with everything you need to start using it immediately. Some games require the Fire Game Controller, but other then that, you don’t have to buy anything.
xbmc works with it easily
