Amazon has just put the Fire TV Stick on sale by knocking $5 off the retail price. The Fire TV Stick is currently $34.99, while the Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote is currently $44.99. Apart from Prime Day and Black Friday sales, that price is about as good as it gets for the Fire TV Stick. The Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote on the other hand is not that great of a deal, since that usually drops another $5 to $39.99 when it has been on sale in the past.

Any chance the price is marked down to clear inventory in advance of a next gen model being released? I’m in the market for another Fire TV Stick (my third) and was hoping a new model was coming soon.
That’s always a possibility, but in my opinion, we won’t see a new model until October.
Sale don’t usually indicate a new model is coming. Being out of stock for long periods of time tends to be a better indicator.
