Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite is on sale for $14.99 for Prime Day — But you shouldn’t buy it

All of Amazon’s Prime Day prices for Fire TV devices have gone live this morning and among them is the Fire TV Stick Lite on sale for $14.99. While, at 50% off its regular price of $29.99, this might seem appealing to buy, you should strongly consider buying any other model instead. That’s because the Fire TV Stick Lite doesn’t have TV power or volume controls on its remote and the $3 extra you spend getting the Fire TV Stick on sale for $17.99 is well worth the cost for the TV controls alone. That said, I’d still push you to spend a bit more for the Fire TV Stick 4K, which will last much longer thanks to its newer operating system and much better performance. Compared to past deals, this Fire TV Stick Lite sale matches the price of last Prime Day, but isn’t the lowest price it has ever been, which is $11.99.

I guess new OS means not an android anymore… proprietary OS like Roku and Apple that can’t be manipulated like AndOS.. sad

I have one TV that will turn on and switch to the correct HDMI port when I press the home button on the Fire TV Lite remote. I rarely adjust the volume anyway.
