On the verge of Amazon Prime’s 10th birthday, Amazon has another milestone to celebrate. The Amazon Fire TV app library has just reached 1,000 apps. Thanks to a stellar month of December, which brought over 100 new apps, this achievement comes about 300 days after the original Fire TV was released.

The Fire TV app library is currently split down the middle with half of the apps being games. About 20% of all apps are not compatible with the Fire TV Stick. The vast majority of the incompatible apps are high end games. Half of all Fire TV apps are free, and nearly half of all paid apps are $0.99 or less.

Great news.. but a bit missleading have the Kodi icon on the picture. That can only be sideloaded as it isn’t currently available in the appstore.

Nice job. I was wondering if someone was going to catch that. While its true Kodi will never be in the appstore, an app with that icon has been submitted to the appstore and is currently under review and pending approval. Stay tuned ;-)

Actually, the xbmc updater, available in the app store, CAN get the kodi apk. I used the firetv installer, mentioned in the aftv news!
