Amazon has just dropped their Fire TV Game Controller to $14.99 for Black Friday. This is the first time that this controller has ever been priced this low. Amazon has been clearing out stock of this controller because it is not compatible with the newer Fire TV models, but it is a fantastic controller, so if you’re still using a compatible Fire TV, this price is an absolute steal. The Fire TV Game Controller is only compatible with the Fire TV 1 box, Fire TV 2 box, Fire TV Stick 1, and Fire TV Stick 2 (current model). It is not compatible with any Fire TV Edition televisions, the Fire TV 3 (pendant), the Fire TV Cube, the Fire TV Stick 4K, or any non-Fire TV device, like the NVIDIA Shield TV.
I opted to no by one and got Logitech F310 instead. It works with my FTV even after OS update.
Also tested the F710 (wireless) and it worked.
Bluetooth gamepad that works on FireTV devices and Fire tablets. Sale price of $13,marked down from $18.

Real-time switching to mouse emulation.
What is the difference between Matricom XYBA and Matricom BX? they seem to have identical functionality unless I’m missing something.
Does that still work after the latest OS update?
Only have ftv2,stick 1 & 2,and pendant and it works on all with latest os.
Also, works with shield tv.
Setup under game controllers, not bluetooth devices for amazon os.
Select button = Back
Start button = Menu
M button = Home
Seen as xbox 360 controller.
It seems Bluetooth controllers have much better compatibility with all the Fire TV models than a wireless controller. Bluetooth also has faster response time too, but less range. I have the original Bluetooth controller and wondering if I should get this as a backup.
Yes. Once they are sold out we will never see them again.
Does anyone know if this game controller is compatible with the Nvidia Shiels? Thanks in advance.
Pip
I would guess not. But I would suggest the matracom in the link in Tangos comment above. It’s also on sale and compatible with Shield TV.
I bought Logitech F310 controllers and they work with my fire tv box (G2) and windows. I’m still waiting for my Shield TV to arrive. Was supposed to be here 2 days ago but the Canada Post strike has delayed it.
I’ve used the wired f310 on ftv2 and shield tv and it works quite well. Just plug it in and go, no messing with Bluetooth settings!
No. It’s a wifi direct controller, you will need a Bluetooth controller for the Shield TV.
Or wired
Thanks everyone for the input. If I can’t get it to work I’ll just use it on my FTV.
Why does the Snakebyte BT controller look exactly like the old Amazon gen1 BT controller?
