The Amazon Fire TV Blaster is on sale for $19.99. At 43% off the regular price of $34.99, this is the first time that the Fire TV Blaster has ever been available this low. The Fire TV Blaster is a small IR emitter that adds a lot of the functionality built into the Fire TV Cube to a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV. If you have any Echo smart speaker paired to your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, adding the Fire TV Blaster to the mix will allow you to do things like turn your TV off, switch inputs on your TV, adjust the volume, control your soundbar, and much more, all hands-free without needing to touch a remote. The Fire TV Blaster is only compatible with the Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick Lite, 3rd-gen Fire TV Stick, 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick, and 3rd-gen Fire TV Pendant. If you don’t know which model Fire TV or Fire TV Stick that you have, see this guide.
Elias would you have any idea if this would work for turning on/off an Epson Projector?
No, it likely will not work. Amazon specifically says that it is not compatible with projectors.
You might consider a programmable IR emitter that can integrate with an Alexa Skill to control something like a projector.
1. BroadLink RM Mini3 Black Bean Universal Remote.
2. MoKo WiFi Smart IR Remote Controller can be paired with an Echo Flex.
Search for either on Amazon.com for more information. Both will have profiles of 3rd party IR controls and will give you the ability to create an IR Profile and use an original remote to ‘teach’ specific remote commands that can then be voice controlled or used with an Alexa routine.
Thanks. I have a Harmony Hub that will work it and integrates with Alexa but every so often it seems to lose the settings. Was just hoping for a simple alternative. I’ve heard good things about the Broadlink Mini, I’ll have to look into that. Thanks again.
