Amazon currently has the new Amazon Fire TV on sale for $54.99 on their website, but you can save an additional $5 if you buy it in person at one of their pop-up stores. The third generation Fire TV can be purchased for $49.99 through February 4th, the day of the Super Bowl, at pop-up stores in malls, Whole Foods, and Kohl’s across America. That matches the lowest price the new Fire TV has ever been.
This might be a nice price,
the product itself is a joke.
Amazon should bring a “real” Fire TV box
with a fat processor, Ethernet, electrical/optical audio combo connector, a SD-Card slot plus USB 3.
I’d like to replace me Fire TV stick
but this thing is not an option for me.
.
Sure does make one wonder why, after only four months since release date, Amazon is reducing the price of this product by nearly 30%. What am I saying? No one wonders why. It’s so painfully obvious.
The Fire TV 2 was reduced by 20% just 2 days after it was released and then reduced by 25% a month later. You’re reading into this sale too much.
Perhaps you are right… or perhaps it IS because this device is horrid and a major Amazon blunder.
I still cannot get mine to function with KODI as well as my FIRST generation Fire Stick. Regret the purchase.
Time will tell.
Just look at it this way, Amazon really does NOT want to be in the kODI business. It’s not a 4K HDR lossless audio KODI box, for that you need a shield. But if you use it as intended for streaming I’ve heard it’s not that bad and at least it’s faster than the fire TV stick. They really have zero incentive to come out with some super powerful streaming box it’s simply not needed it for their platform and is never going to happen
