If you’re in the market for an Amazon Fire Phone, you’ve got a difficult decision to make. eBay is currently selling the Amazon Fire Phone for $139.99 unlocked with a free year of Prime membership. That is $20 less than the lowest price this phone has ever been. This is a great deal, but the decision you have to make is, do you pick this deal up before it’s gone, or do you wait two days for Prime Day in hopes that Amazon offers the Fire Phone for less. Whether you purchase the phone from eBay or Amazon, you will get a full year of Prime Membership included. If you’re already a Prime member, you will get your membership extended by a full year, so you won’t miss out on any of the benefit. At this eBay price, that’s like getting the phone for just $40. For what it’s worth, Amazon has just this week began listing the Fire Phone at a regular list price of $199. That’s noteworthy because, despite the phone regularly being put on sale, the list price before this week has always been $449. If Amazon was preparing to offer the Fire Phone at an all-time low price during Prime day, why would they devalue the sale by lowering the phone’s list price a few days prior? The new regular everyday price of $199 could indicate that Amazon is done discounting the Fire Phone and is passing stock to third party sellers like eBay.
I’d buy one if I didn’t have to hack it to get the play store on it.
If you didn’t have to hack it, then it would be 3 times this price because that’s what the hardware is worth. If this came with stock Android, it would be flying off the shelf at this price. You’re trading some functionality for huge price savings. You can’t have it both ways.
No need to hack it, to get play store apps.
Actually it’s not “eBay” that’s selling the phone, it’s Qualitycellz.
Qualitycellz does however seem to have a good reputation.
Picked this up at $199 yesterday. Hoping if Prime Day has a cheaper price that maybe they will Price Match if I ask. I’m all in with Amazon and I’m used to the limited App Store on my Fire HD, so I’m hoping the transition won’t be too bad. I don’t really use any Google Apps anymore, but I know how to sideload if needed.
Any app I want from the Play Store I have on my Fire.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab – I download the app onto my Tab, I back it up using ES File Explorer, then using ES File Explorer I send it to my Fire.
It honestly is that simple!
I bought 3 , it is almost 40 $ after prime, 40$ phone, camera alone worth that 40 bucks.
Yeah, I basically use my Fire Phone as an Android Camera, it automatically uploads all my photos to Amazon Cloud Drive (unlimited photo storage w/ Prime).
Is this the same phone sell by Amazon?
