Amazon Echos and Alexa are coming to Italy and Spain

Amazon has announced that Alexa will soon be available in Italy and Spain for the first time. Echo devices are now available to pre-order at amazon.it and amazon.es. The Amazon Echo will sell for EUR 99.99 but is available at an introductory price of EUR 59.99. The Echo Dot will be EUR 59.99 but is EUR 35.99 right now and the Echo Plus will be EUR 149.99 but us EUR 89.99 right now. Interestingly, Amazon is also releasing the Echo Spot in Italy and Spain, which is unusual because they tend to introduce audio-only Alexa devices first when launching in new countries. The Echo Spot will be EUR 129.99 but can be ordered for EUR 77.99 for a limited time. All devices will be released on October 30th.

Elias, do you think the whole world will get Spanish and Italian as language options with the launch of these devices or will it take some time? Thanks!

Should be available worldwide as soon as they start shipping (in less than a week) at least that’s what happened recently with french.

Sorry, but I don’t know. Language and geography updates are one of those things that are very difficult for me to track and test, so I wouldn’t even be able to make an educated guess on what this expansion means for people in other parts of the world.

Thanks. It seems to be inconsistent in terms of whether new language options are available worldwide or regionally. Was wondering if Amazon had given you a heads up, but seems they haven’t.

Interesting I have those and India-English, Canadian-English, Australia/New Zealand-English, Japanese and French. It appears though it is there I can’t actually pick Japanese.

    hi.

I’m living in Spain and I have 4 echo dot 2 (3 from USA & 1 from Germany). I cannot set up Spanish lenguage. I asked Amazon Front and they told me that it will be no possible ¿?¿?¿

Has anybody managed to set up spanish lenguage in usa devices?

    • Erin says:

Yes, Spanish and Italian came up as options for me yesterday in the USA. You may need to update the Alexa app?

In the US, you get a pop-up message warning that the language doesn’t match my Amazon account and is not fully supported in my country.

      • Alex says:

One question, what is your device?
Because I’ve read around the interwebs that 1st gen devices do not have Spanish and Italian support.
