The Amazon Echo Flex is on sale for $9.99 and includes a Free LIFX Smart Bulb. This is a ridiculously good deal when you consider that the Echo Flex on its own has a regular price of $24.99. The lowest price the Echo Flex has ever been in the past is $17.49, so $9.99 is already a new all-time low price before you even factor in the free smart bulb. The included bulb connects via WiFi so you don’t need any kind of smart hub to use it. The Echo Flex is Amazon’s most basic Echo smart speaker. Its tiny speaker isn’t going to sound good for music, but it’s perfectly sufficient for speaking to Alexa, which is what it’s designed for. On the bottom of the Echo Flex is a USB port that can be used to charge your phone or other devices. The USB port can also accept one of several Echo Flex accessories, including a Motion Sensor, Night Light, or Clock which are on sale for $12.99. Each accessory is “smart” in that it can be controlled or incorporated into Alexa commands and routines.
Update: The free bulb has sold out, but the Echo Flex alone is still available for $9.99. You can also get the Echo Flex + Amazon Smart Plug bundle for $14.99.
Can this double as a timer? Like to have lights turn off/on the same time everyday?
Any Alexa compatible smart lights/bulbs can be set to turn on/off at a certain time by creating an Alexa routine. If you’re specifically talking about the light attachment for the Echo Flex, then yes, it too can be set up that way since it is essentially just a smart light/bulb.
I use a traditional mechanical timer that makes a constant clicking sound that drives me nuts when I think about it. If this could rid my life of that, then I am sold.
What is that traditional timer connected to?
It’s the kind that they have sold since the 80s? It plugs into an outlet, has dial to set the on/off routine. I just like a light going on/off automatically when it is dark.

Sounds like it is time for me to move to smart bulbs, but I wasn’t sure what kind of setup was required. I’ll probably buy 1-2 of the alexa/bulb combos, and maybe sell or give away the alexas, since I don’t use them.
Great deal!
is the lifx bulb tunable white or is it just dimmable only ?
and can the echo flex be used as an echo input,i mean can the flex be added to audio groups and then connected to a stereo via the 3.5mm jack for stereo output with a phono to L R RCA cable?
