Amazon’s Echo smart voice-controled speaker is turning out to be quite the sleeper product. When it was first announced, it was a speaker with a few neat tricks up it’s sleeve. A few months ago it gained the ability to control various smart home lights and switches. Now it can do so much more, including its latest abilitiy which allows it to fully control Amazon Prime music stations.
Prime stations are Amazon’s ad-free music feed for Prime members. You can now play any of your stations by simply saying “Alexa, play [station name].” But, the fun doesn’t stop there. You can say “Alexa, thumb up/down” while any song is playing to fine tune the stations song selection. You can also ask “Alexa, what song is this” to be told the song information of what’s being played for quick music discovery. The Echo is Amazon’s most interesting hardware device since the Fire TV and I think it has yet to unlock its full potential.
Sometimes Amazon really pisses me off. I am happy my echo can play stations so not mad about that. My issue is that the fire phone still cant play stations. Seriously wtf? The fire phone is LAST to get any updates for amazon apps and the echo which isnt even in full release gets it first. Us Fire Phone users get the shaft on every update. It took them almost a year to put in freaking font sizes. I love my echo and fire phone, I just wish they would take their flagship phone more seriously.
