Amazon adds new ‘Live’ tab to Fire TVs in the UK

Amazon Fire TVs in the UK are getting a new ‘Live’ tab in their navigation menu. This new section of the Fire TV home launcher pulls in live programming from various sources and lists them on a single screen to make it easier to browse what’s airing live from different services.

The Fire TV’s Live tab first launched in 2019 in the US. It later made its way to Fire TVs in Germany and in India. It’s now being made available in the UK for the first time. When the Live tab first launched in the US, content from only a few services were integrated into it. Since then, several more services have been added and now the live tab features live channels from quite a few different services.

In the UK, the Live tab is launching with integration from My5 and TVPlayer. If you have either or both apps installed, content within the apps will be sorted and categoriesed in the new Live tab. In addition to content from those apps, the Live tab in the UK will also feature live Prime Video Channels and Prime Video Live Events, such as Premier League and Rugby matches.

The new Live tab will be rolling out to Fire TVs in the UK over the next several weeks. It will be available on all Fire TV devices, both with the new interface and those still on the old interface.
