Elias, Sorry to put a damper on what is usually a happy day but here it comes and your readers need to know: Amazon is screwing me over and adding a lot of fine print BS!!!.
I placed an order for the Echo Dot w/Clock and the 6 Month’s of Amazon Music Unlimited, Thank you for providing the link. It is the same “special” they have been running for the past couple days nothing better.
Now the Bad: I have about $100 worth of Gift Card credit loaded to my account so I was of course expecting to get the Echo for free. NOPE! Amazon states that because there is a Digital Item linked to the Echo (The Free 6 month Music subscription) I cannot use a Gift Card to Pay…WTF!
I called Amazon (so old school) they were nice but said it was a law and cannot bypass the payment type. Fine. So I pay for the Echo with my CC.
I immediately get a notice that my Music Unlimited subscription is available in my account. Great, Except… My CC happens to be up for renewal in September and Amazon says they are cancelling my FREE 6 Month Unlimited Subscription unless I put a new CC in that is valid until the end of 2021. WTF! (Again!). I only use one CC (never saw the point in 2 or more) Then if things couldn’t possibly get worse I see in the Fine Print that this Free Unlimited Music Subscription is ONLY for the INDIVIDUAL PLAN. One device at a time. WTF! (A third time!) I’m done. Obviously Bezos is getting Cheap because he had to Pay off his Wife to keep his 20 something year old GF and Pay for his ridiculous ride into Space with his brother. Sorry for the rant, but have a great Prime Day!

    • Oh man, sorry that you had so many issues but thanks for letting us know. I had no idea you couldn’t pay with credit if you got the free music bundle and requiring a newer card is just dumb. I guess they want to make sure there is a chance you’ll keep the subscription.

Thanks, again I hate to bring the joyous mood down!
I resolved my Free Music Unlimited subscription issue by using my wife’s CC which doesn’t expire until next year. (Still can’t use Gift Cards Though! Oh Well!)
I came across something else important your readers might want to know:
As a Prime member I had access to the basic tier Prime Music. Once my CC issue was resolved Amazon automatically upgraded my account to the Music Unlimited Individual Plan. In May of 2021 (Last Month) Amazon allowed All unlimited Plans to Upgrade to the HD MUSIC OPTION for FREE. This was NOT automatic (possibly because I never had Unlimited before, I don’t know?) I had to SELECT HD MUSIC FREE UPGRADE under my music account to apply it. I can confirm there was no additional cost and it did not change my free 6 month subscription option. It did however DELETE ALL my authorized Music devices. Your are allowed 10 of course. I had 6. It did not require the 30 day waiting waiting period to reuse the 10 open slots thankfully. All say Available now.

        • Great info as always! I’m going to do a roundup of all the devices that qualify for the free 6 months and I’ll be sure to include all of your findings in that post!

One last (but important) item of note: I took one last look at my Amazon Music account subscription page (glad I did):
There is a selection to check on if you want Amazon to email a reminder 3 DAYS PRIOR that your free subscription is about to expire. It is OFF by default (surprise, surprise!). As we are talking 6 month’s from now I would think most folks would want it turned on like I did.
