Amazon has put all of their Kindle models on sale exclusively for Prime members. The regular Kindle is $49.99 which matches the lowest price it has ever been. The Kindle Paperwhite is $89.99 which matches the price it was during this past Prime Day. The Kindle Voyage is $169.99 which is $20 higher than the lowest price it has been. Lastly, the very premium Kindle Oasis is $309.99. That is for the highest end model with free celullar connectivity so you can download new books anywhere. This $50 discount matches the lowest price the Oasis has ever been.
How does the free cellular connectivity work? Who’s the carrier and is there unlimited data usage or Amazon eBooks can’t possibly use that much data. Has anyone been able to piggyback on the cellular signal to get other devices on the internet? Like then the Kindle info a WiFi hotspot with cellular. I wonder if it’s locked to Amazon addresses only via Kindle OS software or it’s locked by the cellular carrier.
Does Kindle also use FireTV OS and has a Silk browser? It would be a great way to get cellular internet, or just too good to be true? I don’t have any experience with Kindles. I also meant turn the Kindle into a hotspot or Kindles are extremely locked down like Rokus.
I believe the carrier is still AT&T. Pretty sure it’s not unlimited and capped at 50mb per month. Enough for browsing and downloading books, but not enough to abuse. I don’t know if it has ever been hacked.
So have they dropped the non 3g version of the Oasis? It’s the only one not on sale & I can’t find it on Amazon.com
Not sure. It says it is “currently unavailable” but that doesn’t mean it’s gone for good. My guess is they are just back ordered too far. I’m told they sell as fast as they make them.

Thanks for this. I’ll be watching this link.
Why Amazon? Why do you hate me? The non 3g is back in stock but is the only model not on sale. WHY!!!!!?
I was able to score an amazon refurbished voyage for $99 last black friday. Awesome deal!
I had ordered a Paperwhite back on September 18th. Asked them if they would refund me $30 and they refused. So I have to return it and order a new one to get my $30 back…
That has not happened in the past.
