   The first 6:15 of this podcast is so helpful to understanding the world of rooting.

   I think the problem is is that not only are there multiple methods of rooting, but once you have rooted it’s not easily grasped why you need recovery and why you need a pre-rooted ROM if you just rooted.

   Thanks. That’s the 1, 2, 3 I’ve been looking for but no one has explained.

   There’s an overview that’s otherwise missing and makes it hard for a newbie to understand the workflow. It’s also hard to link a series of guides together as a contiguous set of instructions when they are so broken up and keep referring to “read this guide to do this little step, then read this one” and so on.
