Prime Day is over and, as it tends to be every year, it was the most successful one yet for Amazon. The most popular products on Prime Day are always Amazon’s own devices, thanks to heavy discounts. If you missed out on any Amazon device deals, you’ll probably have a second chance in a few weeks. That’s because, for the last 3 years, 3rd-party retailers have had a one-day simultaneous sale on Amazon devices shortly after Prime Day.
3rd-party retailers that sell Amazon devices, such as Target, Best Buy, Staples, and B&H, have always had follow-up sales to Amazon’s Prime Day where they simultaneously match the prices seen during Prime Day. This has been the case ever since Prime Day started in 2015. It appears to be a coordinated sale to make up for the fact that retailers don’t seem to be allowed to match Amazon’s device deals during Prime Day.
Last year, the one-day sale occurred on Friday, August 4th. The two prior years, the sales occurred on August 8th, 2016 and on August 3rd, 2015, which were both Mondays. The most likely days for the sale this year are probably Friday, August 3rd, or Monday, August 6th, but I’d say it could be anytime between now and August 10th.
If the sale occurs, most retailers will match Amazon’s Prime Day prices for Amazon devices exactly. This gives those of you who are not Prime members a chance to buy Amazon devices at the same price as subscribers did during Prime Day. Some retailers will have extra incentives, such as Target’s 5% REDcard discount or Best Buy’s rewards program, which make deals even better. Of course, I’ll be covering all the deals if and when they occur.
Might have to grab a Show at Staples just for bragging…
$129.99 – $80 in rewards – $30 in Discover Cash Back = $19.99
Haha, an Echo Show for the price of a discounted Fire TV Stick :-)
