Toshiba Fire TV Edition televisions were released in the US earlier this year and now they’re coming to Canada. All six models, ranging from the 32-inch 720p TV to the 55-inch 4K TV, are now available to pre-order from Amazon and Best Buy. They’ll be released in just over a week on October 19th.
Toshiba’s Fire TV Edition televisions are split into three 4K (2160p) TVs and three HD (720p/1080p) TVs. The 4K models are available with a 43-inch screen for CDN$ 549.99, 50-inch screen for CDN$ 599.99, and a 55-inch screen for CDN$ 699.99. The HD models include a 32-inch 720p screen for CDN$ 299.99, a 43-inch 1080p screen for CDN$ 449.99, and a 49-inch 1080p screen for CDN$ 549.99.
All models have 3 HDMI inputs with one supporting ARC, composite video input, and an RF antenna connection for the built-in OTA tuner. They also all have optical audio out and analog audio out through a 3.5mm headphone jack. They have 10/100 Ethernet ports and support 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2×2 MIMO WiFi. They have 8GB of internal storage and a USB 2.0 that can be used to extend the tuners ability to pause live TV. Powering the 4K TVs is an MStar T12 CPU and Mali T820-MP2 GPU with 2GB of RAM. The HD sets have an Amlogic T950Z CPU and Mali-450 GPU with 1 GB of RAM.
All of Toshiba’s Fire TV Edition televisions come with the same Alexa voice remote that has the usual collection of navigation and media playback buttons you would expect to find on a Fire TV device. These remotes also have power, volume, and mute buttons, as well as a program guide button to quickly access your OTA channels. At the bottom of the remote are shortcut buttons that launch Prime Video, Netflix, CTV, and Crave apps.
These TVs are available to pre-order now from Amazon and Best Buy and will ship on October 19th.
