New Fire TV apps of the week — July 1-7

This week there were 34 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions. A new first-person shooter game called The Unknown City has been released. The “Episode 1” in the title suggests the game will be a series. FlixonTV is a new subscription TV service that arrived this week. Their website says you get over 65 channels for $35 per month. [UPDATE: The legality of FlixonTV is questionable. See comments below.] There are also a couple new 3rd-party YouTube apps, which appear to just be the same app with different names. New Fire TV apps of the week — June 24-30

This week there were 45 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions. AT&T WatchTV has arrived this week to try to take on the streaming subscription TV services already available. It’s the most bare-bones one of the bunch, but it’s also the cheapest at $15 a month. WIRED has released an app with their tech journalist videos. If you’ve got kids in the house, check out Om Nom Stories for cartoons featuring the character from the game Cut the Rope. This week there were 35 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions. Among them is a new Cleaner & Speed Boost app that appears to clear out app caches all at once. I haven’t tried it yet myself, but it might be a good way to clear up internal storage space. Outdoor Adventure Network has released an app this week, so if you’re into fishing, hunting, or shooting, this app’s programming might be right up your alley. Gray Television, which runs several dozen local news networks across the United States has released over 50 apps this week for their various networks. This week there were 63 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions. The game Marble Masters: The Pit has 50 levels of marble destroying mayhem. FlixFling has brought their extensive library of over 10,000 movies to Fire TV devices this week. It’s a streaming service trying to take on Netflix that costs $7.99 a month with a 14-day free trial. FitzyTV claims to be a 3rd-party cloud DVR that works with your existing cable/satellite subscription. This week there were 62 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions. The most notable app is the ABC News app which provides a free 24/7 live stream of the news as well as plenty of on demand content. This week there were 49 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions. Brick Breaker Ultimatum is a new Arkanoid/Breakout type game made specifically for the Fire TV. Fans of tech may want to check out the new CNET TV with gadget videos and reviews. Baeble Music has released an app for Fire TV devices that lets you watch thousands of exclusive concerts, sessions, interviews and music videos. Party Mirage is a new game that is full of mini-games to challenge friends with when you’re bored. Anime fans may want to check out HIDIVE, which is a new Anime streaming service that costs $4.99 per month. Those of you who are always on the lookout for new media players to try, a new one called nPlayer just arrived on Fire TV devices.
