New Apps for the Week of April 16th thru the 23rd

This week there were 36 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink is a newly added free version of the popular paid game that was released a few weeks ago. Digital Box Office is an intriguing app that I’ll be looking into more soon. The service offers a library of new movies completely for free and ad-free. In exchange for free access to the movies, you just have to vote and give your opinion of the movies you’ve watched through the service. There are also numerous new Indian apps, due to the launch of the Fire TV Stick in India this week. The network analyzer app myNetlyzer, which I wrote about prior, is back in the appstore with a new version. Al Jazeera, the global news network, has released a new app. It contains a free live stream of their broadcast which does not require any kind of activation or subscription to view. MHz Choice is a new streaming service with international mysteries, dramas, and comedies. It’s available to try free for 30 days and is $7.99 per month after. This week there were 24 new apps and games released for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. Retro Racers is a new classic style arcade game from the maker of Brick Breaker Premium. The game has 12 tracks, 4 power-ups to use, and works wth both the Fire TV remote and game controller. Speaking of game controllers, OHRRPGCE Input Test is a new utility app that may be hand for some to test their 3rd-party game controller’s button compatibility with the Fire TV. MouseBot is a great new free game from the same developers who brought you Riptide GP and Beach Buggy Racing. Sigi looks to be a fun classic arcade platformer with goofy enemies that might be worth playing. Motor Trend OnDemand releases app for the Amazon Fire TV

Motor Trend OnDemand is a subscription streaming service for motorsport enthusiasts that has been available as an Amazon Channel for several months. The service has just released a dedicated app for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick for those who are subscribed directly to the $4.99 per month service. Motor Trend OnDemand streams over 800 hours annually of new motoring content, including 60+ live motorsport events. In addition to the new content, the app provides access to an archive of historical videos not available through the Amazon Channel subscription.

New MouseBot game by Vector Unit arrives on the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

MouseBot is a brand new game that was just released on the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. This is the latest game from Vector Unit, creators of extremely popular games like Riptide GP and Beach Buggy Racing. In MouseBot, you steer a four-wheeled robotic mouse through mazes full of traps and obstacles as you collect cheese to upgrade your mouse with new accessories. The game features 60 challenging levels to play. It’s compatible with all Fire TV and Fire TV Stick models, and can be played with either a remote or game controller.

The app features live streams of NASA’s free television channel, as well as a live stream of the Earth from the International Space Station. in addition to the live streams, there are on demand videos to view, as well as beautiful photos from various telescopes. Amazon Fire TV gets new Discovery, Science Channel, I.D., TLC, and Animal Planet apps

The Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick have just gained new apps for Discovery Channel, Science Channel, Investigation Discovery, TLC, and Animal Planet. All of these networks are owned by Discovery Communications, which is why these apps have all arrived at once. All five apps share the same layout and features; just with different programming. They require activation with a TV subscription service to unlock all content within each app, but they do offer a small selection of free content, which includes full episodes, even if you don’t activate the app. If you do unlock the app, you’ll also be able to watch a live stream of each network.
