fire-tv-block-software-updates-aftvnews

Update

Releasing ROMs with updates blocked by default causes issues with the initial Fire TV setup process, so ROMs will not be released with updates pre-blocked. See my update below for more information.

A second version of the brand new 5.0.5 pre-rooted ROM has already been released with this new change implimented. If you’d like software updates enabled, perhaps because you prefer to rely solely on your router to block updates or to keep your Fire TV as stock as possible, read on for instructions on how to reverse rbox’s update block.
