Kodi addon developers quit after coordinated legal threats from Hollywood Studios

Popular piracy-linked Kodi repositories and addons Colossus, Covenant, Ares Wizard, URLResolver, and MetaHandler have been taken down or abandoned by their developers as a result of what appears to be a coordinated effort by an anti-piracy alliance composed of major United States film studios. Did Amazon just approve a piracy app into the official Fire TV Appstore?

A new streaming service called TV Kraken has just been approved into the official Amazon Appstore for all models of the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition television. I can’t find much information about the streaming service, other than what’s on their webiste, but it’s hard to believe that what they offer is legal. For just $25 per month, TV Kraken gives you access to over 500 channels which includes HBO, Showtime, Starz, and over 15,000 on-demand movies and TV shows. Read more ›

Amazon Fire TVs and Fire TV Sticks are spontaneously deregistering from their Amazon accounts

Yesterday morning, all of my Fire TVs and Fire TV Sticks, except for my one new Fire TV Stick 2, were spontaneously deregistered and removed from my Amazon account. Since then, I’ve been contact by several others who experienced the same thing with their devices. It’s unclear why this is happening, but based on those who have experienced this, my guess is it’s related to having an unusually high number of devices associated with a single Amazon account.
