Contradiction video murder mystery game makes Android debut on the Fire TV

Contradiction is a very unique murder mystery game that just arrived on the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. The game uses live-action video for the entirety of the game play, which involves interviewing characters and spotting their lies to solve a murder. It was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign which resulted in a release on iOS, where it has earned a 4.5 star rating, and a release on Steam, where it has been 97% positive reviews from over 1,000 reviewers. It’s now making its Android debut on Fire TV devices. The game offers 8 hours of gameplay and you can try a free version before committing to buy the full version. It’s compatible with all Fire TV models except the 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick, but hopefully that is just a listing error and will be resolved. The game works with either a remote or game controller.

Refurbished Fire TV 1 and Amazon Tap on sale on Woot

Woot currently has the refurbished 1st-gen Fire TV and the refurbished Amazon Tap on sale. The refurbished Fire TV 1 is $52.99, which is $3 more than the lowest price I’ve ever seen for it. If you’re looking for something a bit more powerful than the Fire TV Stick but don’t want to spend the money for the Fire TV 2, the Fire TV 1 is still a very capable device. Plus, it’s the only model that has an optical audio port, which many can’t live without. The refurbished Amazon Tap is $79.99, which is not that enticing of a price, considering the brand new Tap was on sale for just $10 more just a few days ago.

Jackbox, OUYA, and several other top Fire TV games just went on sale this morning

When it rains it pours because a bunch of top Amazon Fire TV games just went on sale this morning. I couldn’t find any reason as to why all of these games went on sale at the same time, but if you’ve been looking for something to play on your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, here’s your chance to pick up some new high quality games at a discount. I personally recommend Machinarium, which is a fun tranquil puzzle game with beautifull art that hardly ever goes on sale. Remember, the Fire TV Game Controller is still on sale for $39.99 if you need one for the game you want to play.

Update

With this unusually high number of app sales, I knew there had to be something going on and I just found it. Amazon is having a “Gather Around the Fire” promotion which includes these games.
