Black Friday Tip: Items bundled with Echo Dots may cost LESS than the item by itself

While you’re shopping Amazon’s Black Friday Sale, be on the lookout for items that have the option to bundle in an Echo Dot. The bundled price of the item and the Echo Dot will sometimes actually cost less than if you purchase just the single item by itself. Read more ›

Logitech Harmony Smart Remote w/ Hub on sale for $64.99 — New Lowest Price Ever

The Logitech Harmony Remote w/ Smart Hub has just gone on sale for $64.99 as part of Amazon’s early Black Friday Deals. This is the new lowest price that this remote and hub have ever been. Harmony remotes are among the few universal remotes that can control the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions. The included hub connects to the Fire TV via Bluetooth and the remote relays button presses through the included hub to the Fire TV. The remote connects via RF, so you still don’t have to physically point the remote anywhere, just like with the Fire TV default remote. Harmony has a detailed Alexa skill to allow for natural voice control of your entertainment devices.

Element Fire TV Edition 4K television is $299.99 for 50″ and $399.99 for 55″ — Back in stock!

The Element Fire TV Edition television is on sale again and back in stock. The 50-inch is $299.99, which is 45% off the regular price of $549.99. The 55-inch is $399.99, which is 37% off the regular price of $629.99. That’s the same as the door-buster price on Prime Day, which sold out in 4 hours.

All four sizes of these TVs went on sale Sunday morning. The 50-inch and 55-inch sizes, which were most discounted, sold out within a couple of hours. These current sale prices are slightly more than the prices a couple of days ago, but they’re still great and will very likely sell out again. Oddly, the 43-inch size and the 65-inch size are not on sale this time.

Eufy Genie Smart Speaker w/ Alexa on sale for $19.99 — New lowest price ever [Expired]

The Eufy Genie has just gon on sale for $19.99 for today only. This is the new lowest price that this smart speaker has ever been. You can read my review of the Eufy Genie, but it’s essentially an Amazon Echo Dot clone with nearly all of the same capabilities. My one and only major complaint of the Eufy Genie was that it did not have Echo Spacial Perception (ESP) but I have just discovered that it now does support ESP, so it works well with other Echo devices nearby. The only real issue with the Genie, compared to the Dot, is it doesn’t have access to some of the advanced Alexa features, like calling and messaging. Other than the lower cost, the main advantage of the Eufy Genie over the Echo Dot is that the Genie has a slightly better sounding speaker than the Dot. While I would still recommend the Echo Dot over the Eufy Genie for most people, it’s hard to resist at this price, especially if you’re fine with not having calling capabilities.

Get upto 30% off UGREEN Ethernet Adapters for the Fire TV 3 and Fire TV Stick 2 — Exclusive for AFTVnews readers

The people at UGREEN, who make ethernet adapters that are compatible with the Amazon Fire TV 3 and Fire TV Stick 2, reached out to thank me for my articles and offered to give AFTVnews readers an exclusive discount on the two adapters that I’ve been recommending. The UGREEN Ethernet Adapter w/ built-in USB Hub can be purchased for 20% off using promocode AFTVDEAL at checkout. That brings the price down from $13.99 to $11.19. This is the adapter that I personally recommend over Amazon’s official Fire TV Ethernet Adapter because it gives you 3 USB ports in addition to an ethernet port. It works for both the new Fire TV 3 and the Fire TV Stick 2, but you will need to also use an OTG adapter, like this standard one or this mini one. The other discount is 30% off of the UGREEN Ethernet Adapter using promocode AFTVNEWS, which brings the price down from $17.99 to $12.59. This is the adapter I used to recommend before Amazon released their own official adapter. It doesn’t offer much over the official adapter, although its long cables do give you more flexibility with your positioning than with Amazon’s adapter. Both of these promocodes will expire tomorrow.

Some people have had trouble getting these adapters to work with Fire TVs and Fire TV Sticks. Myself and others haven’t had any trouble. I’m not sure why this is, so be warned that there seems to be some unknown variable that causes these adapters to not be recognized.

Refurbished Amazon Echo (1st Gen) is on sale for $69.99 — New lowest price ever

The 1st generation Certified Refurbished Amazon Echo has just dropped down to $69.99. This is the first time it has ever been priced this low. The price is usually $129.99, but it has been hovering around $89.99 during the last few weeks. If you prefer the look or the sound of the original Echo, this is probably one of your last chances to buy it at a discount. I personally think it’s a coin flip between this Echo and the new one when it comes to which one sounds better. I think the new Echo has slightly better sounding lowes, noticeable with bass heavy music, while the original Echo has slightly better sounding highs, noticeable with podcasts/news and music vocals.

Wemo Mini Smart Plug w/ Alexa support on sale for $24.99 — New lowest price ever [Expired]

For Amazon’s early Black Friday deals, they have the Wemo Mini Spart Plug on sale for $24.99. This is the new lowest price that this plug has ever been. This is Wemo’s newest WiFi plug model that improves on the previous design by slimming down the device so that two of them can fit on a single outlet. You can turn on or off anything plugged into this smart plug using either Alexa or the Wemo phone app. You can also use the button on the plug to manually turn the power on or off. Wemo devices, including this plug, do not require any type of smart hub, so all you need for this plug to work is the plug itself.
