For the next few hours, you can get the Arlo Pro 2 Security Camera System w/ 3 Cameras for $359.99. The kit is on sale today only through a lightning deal that has brought the price down to $449.99. Amazon is running a separate promotion on select Alexa compatible smart home devices that reduces the price by another 20% when you apply promo code SMARTHOME20 at checkout. This promotion may only be available to those of you with Alexa devices registered to your Amazon account, but the Fire TV should make you qualified. The lowest price this 3 camera system has ever been in the past is $480, so these two stacking deals have brought it down to a significantly low price. I have owned the 1st generation Arlo Pro cameras and have been very happy with them. They are truly wireless, thanks to their rechargeable batteries, which makes them trivial to move around and place where you need monitoring.
Amazon currently has the Arlo 5 Camera Security System on sale for $399.99, which is the new lowest price this kit has ever been. While the Amazon page may say this discount is $230 off the retail price, the regular price of this camera kit is usually around $550, so this sale is really saving you about $150. These are among the top cameras I recommend for Amazon device owners because Arlo was a launch partner with Amazon when they added security camera support to Alexa. Currently, you can view a live feed of these cameras through the Echo Show, but support for viewing the feed on any Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition television is coming very soon. You will also be able to listen to a live audio feed from these cameras through any Echo or Echo Dot soon as well. Read more ›
The Amazon Echo Show is unfortunately not on sale during Prime Day, but you can save a little if you buy it bundled with a security camera. The Echo Show and Arlo Camera Bundle is on sale for $303.99, which is $75 less than the price of buying each item individually. These two items are being bundled together because you can ask Alexa on the Echo Show to display the camera feed directly on its built-in screen. This bundle does include the Arlo home base, so you can add additional cameras at anytime. The only other discount available for the Echo Show is a savings of $100 if you buy two and use promo code SHOW2PACK during checkout, but that promotion cannot be combined with this bundle. Check out the other Prime Day deals that are now live and check back here often because I’ll be posting the best deals all day as they go live.
Amazon has today announced developer details about their security camera integration with Alexa. The Amazon Echo Show will be released next week and we already know you’ll be able to call up a live feed of your security camera by simply asking Alexa. This announcement doesn’t reveal any new features, but it does show more camera manufacturers are on board. Support for Arlo and Ring cameras were already revealed with the announcement of the Echo Show, but now we know that cameras from Nest, August, EZViz, Vivint, Amcrest, and IC Realtime will also be support. With the new developer options, other security camera manufactures should be able to easily add Alexa support as well. Nothing official has been said about security camera access through Alexa on devices other than the Echo Show yet, but I fully expect you’ll be able to ask Alexa on the Fire TV to view a live feed of your security camera in the coming months.
The Arlo Pro 3 Camera Kit has just dropped to $449.99 on Amazon. The retail price of this kit is $579.99, however I’ve seen it go for $500 several times. This is the first time I’ve seen it drop another $50. Arlo cameras, along with the Ring Video Doorbell, are the only security cameras slated to work with the Amazon Echo Show when it launches next month. Support for other cameras will probably come later, but if you pre-ordered an Echo Show, and would like to view camera feeds on it by asking Alexa, the Arlo cameras are your best option. I’ve been using an Arlo Pro kit in my home since last year and I’ve been very happy with them. Read more ›
